Assistant Café Manager – Summerseat Garden Centre
Location: On-site at Summerseat Garden Centre, Railway Street, Summerseat, Bury, BL9 5QD
Hours: Full time, including regular weekend work on a rota basis
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Café Manager to join our busy café at Summerseat Garden Centre. As an Assistant Café Manager, you’ll support the Café Manager in leading the team, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and presentation.
What You’ll Be Doing

Support the Café Manager with the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

Supervise, motivate and develop café team members to deliver excellent customer experiences.

Assist with staff rotas, stock control, ordering and stock rotation to minimise waste and maintain availability.

Uphold all food safety, health & safety and hygiene standards in line with company policy and legislation.

Contribute to the monitoring of sales, labour costs and wastage, and help drive café performance.

Manage opening and closing duties when required.

Step up to manage the café in the absence of the Café Manager.
What We’re Looking For

Previous supervisory experience within a café, restaurant or similar fast-paced hospitality environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on approach.

Excellent customer service skills and a passion for food and hospitality.

Organised and able to work effectively under pressure.

Commitment to maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.

A positive, reliable, and proactive attitude.
